(linked to "If you're 14-years-old and he's 16-years-old, can you get into trouble with the law" under Family and relationships>friends)
We're together still yet and he's a mormon, 16, and an average guy. I really don't think that he broke up with me because of his mom. Just today, Wedsenday, March 7, 2007 I saw him hugging his friend that told me about the getting into trouble thing. I feel that he was just lying to me about his mom and wants to go out with her. The number one thing that really concerns me is that she told me that she's pregnant. Now don't tell me that I shouldn't be concerned I mean you would too wouldn't you? Would you really break up with someone that you said was the best out of 7 other girls, tell her you love her every hour on the hour, call her just to say hi, and do anything just to be with her? Please help me. I need answers.

It depends on how strongly the mother said to do it and what consequences there were for not doing it. I had the same thing happen. One who I was going out with was ordered to break up with me by the mother.

Sweetheart - at 14, I think you are a little young 'emotionally' to 'date', and especially someone who is '16'. The two year difference doesn't sound like much, but there is a wide gap in maturity there. At 16, Mormon or not, guys can be pretty bad when it comes to how they treat girls. It's the immaturitiy on 'their ' part. If he was just 'hugging' some new girl after telling you what 'his mom said', then I would think he was fishing with any kind of bait he could to get out from 'under' your situation - and then on the other hand, it might be true. Either way, you don't need this. 1) You must consider the legalities of the age thing 2) He's 16. He is not ready to marry anybody - he wants to play around - he's a young man 3) You need to find some other interesting things to keep you occupied. Do healthy things with your own friends. Find crafts and other things that you enjoy and have yourself a good time! There are planty of bass in the sea....your prince will come along....soon.

Well first off, you wont get in trouble for being 2 years apart...you would get in trouble for being 3 or more years apart.
You would be surprised how much guys actually listen to their mothers...its crazy...i remember when i was 14 i was flat out in love with this one guy...he did all of the same things you said this guy did, and more. He was everything i had ever wanted...my life absolutely revolved around him. We never did anything sexually, but we were accused of it, and when we said that nothing happened nobody believed us. Eventually his mom was so persistent in trying to convince everyone that was a s*lut that he left me, and then started spreading rumors about me...it hurt so bad, and now, even 4 years later, im still in love with him...
oh wow i am rambling...i guess my point is that yes, it is possible that a guy would break up w/u cuz of his mom...

Your young, and still at home. I would think twice about going against your mom. Why don't you let her meet them. Get to know each other on a more personal bases.

Well if his Mum told him to break it off with you he has no balls and he's a mummy's boy so you don't want him anyway. If he's screwing someone else (and especially if they're pregnant) then you don't want him.
Go find yourself another fish - that one's rotten!!

If he really wanted to be with you he would. It sounds like its time for you to move on. I know its difficult but you will find someone who treats you right.

But maybe you can tell your mom that you broke up and keep it a secret...
Cause if you really love that person you'll do anything right??
