Public education initiative for non-Indians and the Natives?

Comment on the similarities and differences between the ideology behind the public education initiative for non-Indians and the Canadian program created to “fulfill” the government’s treaty-based obligations to provide education to indigenous peoples. Speculate on the rationale behind the similarities and differences you discuss.

The two are similar in that they both attempt to motivate and assist a group that has been treated indifferently. The difference between the two is obvious... racial based.

Education for non-Indians must be patterned with the normal system but education for the indigenous people must not violate their traditions.
