Well, next year, junior year, this is my so far schedule. Some people think im crazy. I dont know.

A.P. US History,

A.P. Physics (Haven't taken Honors Physics, but my Honors Chem teacher told me I should not have a problem if I am getting an A in her class),

A.P. Chemistry,

Spanish 4,

A.P. English 11,

Honors Pre-Calculus,

I really dont know if i should change this or not. My counselor said I should try to get an easy class in to make junior year bareable, but my parents want me to do this. My friends think im bonkers. So far, i have a 3.6 unweighted G.P.A and only got those B's cause of P.E. (i missed a week of P.E. without making it up) and English( my teacher is wacko hard and only like 2 people out of 32 got a A)

Is this crazy?
Bearable?

FYI: I want to go, or, I have to go to U.C. Berkley, or U.C.L.A or my life, in my parents' light, is officially over.

What do you guys say?

Please answer indepth.

Thank You

I don't want to tell you not to do it ( I am a High School teacher) but that is a huge load. I do not know you - maybe you can handle it , maybe not.
I think you counselor is right - get a break in there somewhere and take the toughest or second toughest class your Senior year.
Also - talk to the theachers who teach these classes and find out how hard these classes are - then think of having them all at once - if there is alot of homework there may not be enough hours in the day left to have a life. (Tell your parents that).
Don't kill yourself ( to prove what?) - do your best but be sensible- you can still get into good colleges.

there are some important factors i think you should consider: motivation to take these classes and the homework that comes with them, time allotted to a social life, difficulty of the classes (difficulty depends on schools and teachers), and time you will spend doing college prep (looking at colleges, applying for scholarships, taking exams [SAT, ACT, etc.], volunteering, working, etc.).
I am an IB diploma candidate and have 6 IB classes as well as theater (taking a block class) and I am holding up fairly well. My grades have suffered slightly but that was due to a huge shift in difficulty and expectations in two of my classes and my GPA is still a bit above a 3.9 (unweighted). I do not really have time for a social life but am on the tennis team and I am managing to fit in the amount of community service needed as well.
It really depends on you though. I strongly suggest speaking with any junior friends and see how they are doing and about the difficulty of their classes.

if it is your goal to get the ap credits and be in the college of your choice them consider it.
think about some of this.
couldnt you take spanish 4 during your sen yr? Do you need all of these for your eventual major? could you put off calc?
are you doing it for the grade pt or the possible credit? is anyone you know taking a similar workload? will you be able to see friends and study? can you handle little fun and a whole lotta work?

are you willing to sacrifice this year for 4-5 years at the college of you parents choosing? i worked my butt of and then didnt even apply to U of M because their undergrad ED program had a pretty ho hum rep when i started to talk to people.

you may need a therapist and a yogi for relaxation techniques but it might be worth it to keep at least 5 of those classes.

Looks about like my junior year. I also played sports during all of this (football and soccer) and had a job. You can do it.

who cares what your parents or friends think?
do YOU think you can handle it? if so, then do it. if not, then don't.
we don't know you personally so how can we really answer? you may be a very hard worker and be able to handle it, or it might just be too much and you won't.
