You dont need a new vacuum to remove pet hair just buy "static guard" you can get in any store in the cleaning isle. You just have to spray in on the carpet, wait a minute and vacuum it and the hairs are gone. Trust me it works i have a dog and he leaves ALOT of hairs and this works for me not just that its really really really cheap! Goodluck =)

I prefer the bagless. The most important part of a vacuum when it comes to pet hair is the brushes. {the bristles that clean the rug}
If the brushes get worn down the vac is useless at that point, period! Many people replace the vac when they sstop working so well but all you have to do is buy a new head for it & most sewing machine/vac stores can order them for you.
I like bagless cuz the bags are too large in reg vac's, and they collect so much hair that they don't work well long before it's time to change the bags.
Hope this helps!

I own a dirt devil bagless vacuum and that seems to do just fine but my uncle has a dog and a cat and he bought a Dyson. Dyson has several models available but they have a vacuum that specializes in cleaning up animal hair and dander. My uncle bought the one specifially for animals and he loves it-well worth the money.

A Dyson is good. Or a bagless Bissell (try finding the CleanView edition). The Dyson is expensive, but it works great. The Bissell is light weight, inexpensive, and works well too.
Good Luck!

Dyson, expensive but well worth it. It will be the last vacuum you will ever buy. It does not lose suction
