I am wondering if it gets looser or wider or anything or if it shrinks back down to its original size. I've heard it gets looser. I'm kind of worried that it wont be the same. This is my first.

I was worried about that too with my first. Right after you give birth you'll probably be shocked at how swollen everything is down there - I couldn't believe it! The hospital will probably give you a foam to put on to help reduce pain and swelling, but even if they don't it will go down on it's own in a few weeks. The vagina is amazing b/c it's so elastic it can stretch to push a baby out, yet shrink right back to so small it can sometimes hurt to put a tampon in. Rest assured, you will be as tight as ever within just a couple weeks of healing. Good luck with everything!

EDIT: Just a note, I also never did kegals - I thought they were kind of silly - and never had any trouble with anything. I only had two minutes of pushing to birth my son (almost 8 pounds), and healed right up very quickly without any riping.....so don't fret if you haven't been doing them!

I had a stage 3 epesiotomy (there is only 4 stages and the 4th stage is completely cutting the perenium between the vagina and anus).

I have no problems with remaining tight as always. Do kegals now and later- you'll be just as tight within 6 weeks.

Relax, I've been with a half dozen girls before and after they had kids and all of them were tighter. The cool thing is that after you can take larger objects then befere. And you'll still be thight.

Have Fun!!!
