Low self esteem is my thing.
Can't stand a man with "No backbone" and who whines about everything that goes wrong and how it's everyone elses fault.
They have no ambition,no drive and usually no money!
Lack of empathy I can handle, because you can make them have some eventually.
Low self esteem on the other hand is hard to overcome if it ever does.

I don't think you can class some character traits specifically to men and women. There are loads of women without empathy too !!!

Its all about individuals... but I suppose its an excuse to have a good rant about bad men (even though individuals).

I think it is absolutly unacceptable when a guy does not stick up for you. Even if the girl can stick up for herself a man should always be there to back his girlfriend up no matter what.

Lack of communication is the worst, because then the female doesn't even know what's going on with the relationship, or even what's on his mind.

Abuse against women. I was abused physically and mentally as a young bride, and eventually ran away for my child's and my own safety from that crazy s.o.b.
Anything else seems pretty trivial against a man beating up on a defenceless woman who can't fight back.

for me its the lack of chivalry....

I like a man to open doors for me
help me with my coat
hold my hand when we walk
I like to feel safe and secure with a man, if I would wait for my boyfriend to open my door...I would never get anywhere...when I remind him,...he will say "my bad" and then do it.
