Imagine that kind of person you want to be. Then act as if. Practice and it will come natural for you. I know this because I used to be very shy and quiet. Now I have a knack of talking to anyone:) It's fun. Show interest in others. And you'll be the most interesting person around.

Would you feel comfortable walking down the halls in school between classes, as you go from one classroom to another, just looking and smiling at other students? That is a good way to start. Maybe after a few days or so of that, start saying hi to some of these same students? Please, don't worry about what others think or may think of you. You are unique, no one is exactly like you. If they can't handle knowing you, that is their problem, not yours. I wasn't one of the"popular" girls in high school, but I was nice, and friendly. Greeted people with a "hi", and a smile. It didn't matter what grade they were in either. And, yes, I did have my own friends. It was fun. Hope this helps. Take care.

I'm shy, too. I know it sucks, but for your first step, you have to push yourself. If you want this bad enough, there's always a price to pay. You have to literally make yourself talk to those people. Truse me- it will be hard- but it will work.

First of all, you have to go for people that you don't know or haven't had a conversation with before. This doesn't have to be hard. You can simply walk through the hallways and smile at someone, or say hey to them. You may just make someone's day.

There are many forms of communication. If you're too shy to use talking, use facial expressions or just expressions. If you don't want to say "hi" to someone, then nod or put your hand up. It doesn't matter, but you need to learn to communicate with the people around you.

Second of all, people will ALWAYS form an opinion of you. It's life, and we all know that it sucks at times. You can't let that get to you, though. When someone thinks negatively about you, just say to yourself: I know I'm not the person that they think I am, and obviously, they're low for forming an opinion of me before getting to know me.

Good luck!

I'm in JHS too. 7th grade. you should join extracurricular activities. Talk to more people. Remember, if anyone talks about you, it's because they're jealous of you!

This answer may seem a bit weird...

Imagine the people around you 'naked'....nothing more to say.

It really works!!! Just work at it!
