Okay, I think the Packers are doing the right thing waiting around. Signing Joe Horn to play 3rd receiver in Green Bay would have been a terrible idea because he is not healty, bitches a lot about getting the football, and requires a lot of money. Signing Porter would have been VERY stupid because he has played in a 3-4 offense all of his life and changing to 4-3 may not suit his game. Trading for Moss would just screw up the chemistry of this young team. Also as far as signing a top 5 running back. Who was on the market this year??? Jamal Lewis??? Common. There is simply nobody better than Lynch, who they will draft, in the free agency pool. Look, I am a HUGE Packer fan, and I understand all the frustration. We have a good young offensive line. We do need a receiver, but we dont need loud mouth like Horn and Moss. Cheaper WR like Kevin Curtis and Bobby Engram are still available. We also need a top TE. I realli hope we can sign McMichael. Thompson is a believer in building through the draft. I wasnt such a huge fan, but after the results from the last season, I am begining to buy into his philosophy. Also this year's FAs are RIDICULOUSLY overpaid. 5 years and 30 mill for Daniel Graham?? All that guy can do is block. I dont want the Packers to overpay for a bunch of overrated FAs and screw up what we have right now. A young team who may be very competitive in the future. Also, it shouldnt matter whether this is Brett's last season. I love him just as much as the rest of Packer fans, but the future is more important.

look man I have been a cincinnati bengals fan for ever. If anyon has been down this road of being frustrated its me. we Only started winning win carson palmer came to town a couple years ago. However Im not even a packers fan. I disagree about the future being more important. Green bay has got loads of money to spend. I like that fact they did not pick up porter and that they got a running back. However I think if green bay was to pick up randy moss is would be a good move for the packers. I dont see how having a good player could mess up the young core of recievers they have now. I think having moss would force the defense to double team moss and give some of those young guys a chance to get open more often. If Im a packer fan Id be happy as long as they end up getting moss. He is a huge superstar and would give brett the big play capability on every play. Even if moss is covered that because hes being double teamed and that means someone else is open and brett will find them.

Well, me being a pretty hardcore Packers fan, I too, am upset about the teams lack of effort in trying upgrade positions on the roster. The GM, Ted Thompson, has a philosophy he goes by, and us as Packers fans, should get used to the way hes going to running our team for the next couple of years to come. 1st, Ted likes building his teams through the draft process, which in the last 3 drafts we have had around 32 selections and about 27 are still on the team, including about 5 or 6 starters. 2nd, he likes going after middle grade free agents, just like last year when he signed Pickett and the bust of a safety Manuel, even though he came through late to grab C-Wood. And last, he has learned from our previous GM Ron Wolf that keeping our own free agents is the way Green Bay does it, and always will do it. Since he took over has GM, we have been able to keep some of our own great up and coming players such as Kampan last year, and with siging Jenkings this year. So buddy, as long as know what GB's GM is thinking and how he works, we might not see a big free agent coming to green bay, but you might just see a rookie rb starting for us this year, and maybe someone like Mcmichael or the the fb griffith coming to the Packers.

in step with taking part in time Rodgers continues to be a rookie, even training in the back of Favre. particular i'm particular he discovered plenty from Brett, yet he has to hold it on interest day and carry out on the sphere. he will make many blunders so i do no longer see them making the effect that they made in 2007. they are going to be a team to video reveal strengthen for the subsequent couple of years as new leaders emerge. they gained't be a million of the elite communities interior the NFC, yet they gained't be door mats the two. GB went as deep interior the playoffs because of the fact of Favre's management, as you will see in case you seem at how they did final 365 days, that as Favre went so did the team. whilst he struggled so did the team, and whilst he excelled so did the team. With particularly some youthful gamers coming lower back which will bode nicely for Rodgers so he would not could carry the team.

well the reason they arent making any big deals is because ted thompson is one of the worst GM's ever. instead of stacking a team that has one last shot to make a title run before having to rebuild the team, he decides to keep starting rookies and sign players off the practice squad. he believes in building a team through the draft and not through free agency which makes some sense if the team is rebuilding, but the packers arent. if they signed some big names then they have a legitimate chance at making it far in the playoffs. man i wish ron wolfe was still GM.

I'm stuck here with the Phx. Cards, and really feel your pain. They haven't done anything yet either. They lost a free agent that they offered a LARGER contract to, and then he turned around and went back home for less money. I feel the same slap in the face!!

i think they probably don't have a whole lot of money to spend so they'd rather save it and let their young defense develop...and as for the RB position, the intent is to make marshawn lynch their top draft pick, so they're hoping he'll fill the void
