The cell phone company said that according to their records at least one of our phones is not capable of Enhanced 911 service.
Is this part true? The flier they put in our bill said:
"Having a GPS chip in your phone does not enable 911 call centers, governement agencies or private entities to track your location at any time. The GPS technology is only activated when you dial 911 and create a wireless connection with an emergency call center."
Is that true? I have read online and on Yahoo Answers that a phone can be tracked even when not using it as long as the battery is still in the phone.
Anyone know? Thanks!

I am asking if it is true a cell phone call can't be traced by the government or anyone else when a phone has GPS? I am not asking if my it is true that one of my phones is not GPS capable. Thank you.
