I have a photo that has been in a frame in storage for some time. I tried to take the photo out and part of it is stuck to the glass. Do you know how to remove it without destroying the picture? Thanks

Don't remove it. Leave it and scan it on a flatbed scanne at a very high res. (300 or more) It's best to make a copy of the orginal. Things like that are hard to salvage once they are badly damaged. I wouldn't play with that..... you could make matters worse.

I'm not an expert or anything but I'm just going to throw an idea out there. Maybe if you get a tub of hot, steamy water and hold the picture over it for a while, the steam may unstick the picture from the frame. Now, I have no clue if this works so please only attempt this if you are desperate or as a last resort.

you should make what is called a copy negative. Take a photo of your photo just in case you destroy it. You might want to submerge it in water and then dry it under several layers of paper towels with many books or weights on top of it to keep it flat. Call a photo restored I am sure they have encountered this problem before.

Try steam. If you have a steam iron let the steam rise up on the inside of the glass.

I would place a wrung out wet hot pad of cloth on the glass-it may take more than one try to loosen it.

the best thing to do is to put the picture and glass into a scanner and rescan the whole picture and get it printed. If you try to mess with it, it could damage the picture.

there is very little chance of doing it , but you could hold it over a steam iron or steaming pot of water and see if it will come off.
