Depends on the couple. No one answer is "normal."

There is a normal. Don't let anyone tell you different.

People do what they want, but there *is* an average. "Normal" doesn't mean "acceptable to the community" - like, "he's a normal, ordinary guy." It means a standard of comparison. That's what normal means. Anything involving numbers has an average or a "norm". When we take a test, for example, there's an average or a normal score, and we want to know if we did better than the average score. It's human nature.

If we are to believe the data, couples have sex on average
1-2 times a week.

People easily confuse normal with right. Just because it is normal doesn't make it *right* for everyone. You've got every kind of partner from wild-eyed nympho to frigid prude. Given that both people have average sex drives, then the average number has some meaning. As soon as you involve a non-average sex drive (usually lower in women and higher in men), then the average can't be applied to you as much.

As we have often noted here, it is the mis-match between a couple's sex drives that causes conflict and stress and tension, much more so than whether or not they are having sex a 'normal' number of times a week.

That depends on how long they have been together. The average new couple may make love 6 days a week. While the average couple that has been together for years make make love 2 times a week.

And, if I say 10 times a week will this cause you to think that what you do is too little or that our a macho-person? Or if I say once a month, what would you think then? What we do and why we do it is different for us than you.

Its not a matter of the number of times a week, a month or a year. Its a matter of what else is going on in the household with kids, homework, work, projects and of course...cleaning the house. By the time couples get to bed, not always at the same time, they're exhausted and sex is the last thing on many minds...sleep is always first.

To measure the number of times for any reason is wrong. If someone is tired - leave them alone. If you need affection - cuddle. If you want more...go out of town for a couple of days so that the day-2-day activities aren't there to pull you down.

Who many events? Seven would be normal. But there are a lot of Factors to consider.

How many times? No body is going to tell you that, nor could they.

It is based on what I call the Horny Factor. No one can tell at what level you might be at, at any given time.

Then there is the Love Factor. It also ebbs and flows, and is hard to predict.

Then there is the Age Factor. That changes as time goes by.

Then there is the Physical Condition Factor.

Then there is the Gender Factor.

Then there is the Mental State Factor.

So after you factor in all the damn Factors,
I'd say 7 is a safe figure. Because some factors aren't always quite equal at any given time.

If on the other hand when all the aforesaid factors are forgotten about...and the basic Horny Factor pervades...God only knows what could happen!

I don't know the average, but I would say 3 times a week four tops, depending on the time you have been married I guess

Before they get married or after. I cannot speak for all couples but it seemed in my marriage that as soon as she said "I do" it meant she didnt have to anymore. We probably made love 3 times more in the year before we married then we did in the 9 1/2 years afterwards. I am no longer married to her by the way.

Depending on your sex drive and your age (25-55) I would say the average is twice a week. Once a week if you're happily married. LOL
