I have a 20gallon freshwater tank. Do I need a moonlight bulb? What are the pros and cons with these? Any good manufacturers?

I keep one small light on in my fish room to simulate a moonlight condition. ( it's a very blue bulb) but other than that for frshwater it's not really needed IMO.

Fish tank moonlight. The aquarium does look cool, but it doesn't have any such advantages. And anyway, I've heard and even experienced, that when the fish tank is not exposed to a lot of light, the algae growth is reduced by about 70%

No, you don't need one. Some saltwater corals and fish can benefit from them, I've never heard of any advantage to freshwater fish though. They mostly for looks... I use them, they look cool!
