A waste; no one is worth that much.

Davis is a great Guard or Right Tackle. He's probably one of the better run blockers in the NFL. Arizona wanted him to be an LT, which he isn't mentally capable of (I guess he must be nervous going up against other teams' number 1 DEs).

He's a good signing, but I don't think he's worth 7 mil or so a year.

However, everything's been crazy this offseason. The 49ers paid $10 million a year to a 2nd tier CB. The Ravens let their best defensive player go to the Patriots, making the Pats the NFL's number 1 defense now. Things have been pretty weird since New Year's though. The Colts, a team that couldn't stop the run at all during the season, won the Super Bowl and Broncos CB Darrent Williams was murdered by some gangbanging thugs.

The NFL's just going completely out of whack. Maybe we need Tagliabue to come back as commissioner?

yes too much money. but apparently thats the going rate now in the National Football League. Just like any other organization, if there is more revenue (salary cap) there will be more pay raises. Its kind of like our minimum wage is going up here in the US. Most of us are also going to get a bigger pay day when that happens.

on to davis...

yes he hasnt lived up to expectations but i have seen him play and its not like he is terrible. he is good, just not larry allen. however, i think with a new environment and coaches and everything that surrounds the Dallas Cowboys, Leonard Davis will become a better player and show his full potential. But yes...the money is ridiculous.

No, they are overpaying him by a lot. I believe he was the second pick in 2001, but he has not lived up to expectations. John Clayton summed it up perfectly by saying that David has not been a bust, but he has not performed as well as he was projected to, and now he's getting another big pay day out of it. I think he's a solid player, but he wouldn't start on some teams. Dallas could have gotten him for much less.

davis is a good pickup but not for the amount of money they threw at him. i think it was like 7 yrs for 49 mill? 20 mill guaranteed? im not sure of th exact numbers, but he wont live up to that amount. he has been considered a bust so far.

No. Davis has failed the expectations of him. But then again, his former team sucked bad anyway.

Still just too much money for someone who hasn't proved himself.

first of all players are signed not hired...to answer your question, i don't think they are particularly smart because they paid davis a ton of money and he has never lived up to expectations in his career, even though he has shown a lot of upside
