I sell mine mostly to local pet stores but some online as well. The big chains like petsmart won't buy them unless you have a business license and jump though hoops but small pet stores will. If you have a particularly good line of fish you can get good money for them online.

I hate when people don't answer the question asked. And I'm gonna do just that.
First, it is good to be thinking about it up front because breeding anything is going to eventually mean you have more to take care of.
Why do you want to breed the fish? It does sound like a fun hobby...seeing if you can get them to breed, seeing what colors you get, tending to a little nursery...etc but usually part of the incentive to breeding any animal is to sell them and make at least a little money or to keep an endangered species plentiful.
Betas aren't endangered. And you probably can't make much money most times...so that leaves doing it out of curiosity or for fun.
You can ask the petstores if they want any babies from your fish...and they may indeed want them. If this is a really common fish you probably won't make a living at it but you can breed them responsibly knowing that you have a plan for the young that come out of your efforts.
If they don't want them, you can do some research and see if there is any other demand for your fish in your area. There might be a tropical fish store, or a person in town that loves them or whatever. You need to find your market and make sure you don't need any certain qualifications to breed and sell them...for instance, I know how to make a cake but I can't sell my cakes most places because I don't have a business license, my kitchen is not inspected for commercial sales of product etc. So if you are expected to be a "fish breeder" in order to sell them...you need to get that certification before you do so.
Another thing to remember about betas, is that they are an aggressive fish, to the extent that babies may even be in danger with their own mothers. SO each fish that results from any breeding would need its own habitat until you find other homes for them. Do you have/want/can you get that many fishbowls?
I'm sorry for just throwing more questions at you, dancing around your question, or talking it to death without really knowing the answer to your question. Just seems like maybe you want to keep thinking it through so you can proceed responsibly.
Shutting up now. :)

Well honestly you are going to have off a large number yourself. Assuming a large percentage survive. (Which doesn't tend to happen the 1st few times.) Some will likely be deformed, stunted, or just plain ugly. The females will be hard to sell or even give away. You'll need to house the males for 6-12 months before they get get big beautiful fins. Most mom, and pop pet stores won't buy/take bettas unless they are very good looking, and then only 5-10 a week at best. (Most big chains simply won't take them.) Selling online you'll only be able to sell perfect looking double tails, crown, and half moon pairs.

Honestly most breeders I've met cull 80% of their bettas. Often by throwing them in their female tank.

It's not easy to sell home raised fish to pet stores, unless you have something really special. With Bettas that would mean top-notch breeding stock with the latest fin configurations.(Crown-tail,Double tail, or what ever the newest thing may be.) Not to mention special colors. Also a dedicated fish room would be necessary, because the males are not salable until they have fully colored out,and reached sexual maturity. This means they must be raised in individual containers. If you can acquire fancy,show-winning breeders you may be able to make a little money, but you will work a lot of hours to get it. All that being said, breeding Bettas is rewarding in non-monetary ways, and also a lot of fun. Look into nearby aquarium clubs or The American Betta Congress, which is the national Betta fanciers group. Good luck.----PeeTee

well frst thing you should take the betta's babies fishes out the tank so that the adult wouldnt able to try to eat them cause sometimes the adults parents does eat their eggs or youngs babies for food. so i will just put them into a another fish tank or into a bowl with water then if you don't want them then it good to sell them at the petsmart store so that they can have better lifes and have someo ne buy them from the store. instead selling them online cause its not easiler to sell them online . they might died if you do that .
