Do you ever leave one or two things out and say oh excuse the mess. I do I leave like a plate in the sink and one baby toy on the floor. Then say something like i have been so busy i did not have time to clean up before you came over

I think I say "please excuse the mess" every time simply because I feel that my place isn't ever tidy enough. I think it's a considerate thing to do since you're showing respect for the guest and that you value their visit.

But it sounds like you do a good job cleaning up before guests arrive, so give yourself a break and don't be hard on yourself.

Funny enough I did do that once when I had a new friend over. But I really don't think you should stress or plan that much. Eventually they are going to see the real you. They probably have much messier houses than you. RELAX! :)

No,I like for people to think that my house is always clean, even though I have 3 small boys. Then they can think I am SUPER MOM!!! So I keep it nice and spotless.

Wow! That's so smart!
I have never done it before, but now I know exactly what to do the next time guests come over.
Thanks!
