I think I say "please excuse the mess" every time simply because I feel that my place isn't ever tidy enough. I think it's a considerate thing to do since you're showing respect for the guest and that you value their visit.
But it sounds like you do a good job cleaning up before guests arrive, so give yourself a break and don't be hard on yourself.

Funny enough I did do that once when I had a new friend over. But I really don't think you should stress or plan that much. Eventually they are going to see the real you. They probably have much messier houses than you. RELAX! :)

No,I like for people to think that my house is always clean, even though I have 3 small boys. Then they can think I am SUPER MOM!!! So I keep it nice and spotless.

but enough as to not offend them. (floor cleared of items, a clean place to socialize and drink tea.)

long term single confirm -- what do you think of! (specific ... I did this rather because of the fact i did not have The TIME to freshen up each and every of the messes that my little ones brought about whilst they back abode -- i became into TOO EXHAUSTED!)
