Hey! It's my "Twin-brother-by-another-mother"! Jah!

Biggest Blunders:

Germany = Invading Russia
Britain = making a stand in France/French Expeditionary Force
USA=Too much support for Russia (early) resulting in Russia entering and taking large parts of Germany before we could, forming the post war cold-war, in large part/ & our late entry, resulting in many Concentration Camp deaths
France = Their dependence on a fortified line (Maginot Line)rather than mobile defenses.
Russia=Not making earlier war preparations.
Japan = Attacking US at all! Ever!

Best Strategies:

Germany = Panzer Blitz!
Japan = Not sure anything they did was wise strategy.
Britain = Investment in Air Force, though late, and code breaking
USA = A-bomb drops
France = Giving up, i suppose. saving the country from destruction. But the rest of us who actually fought the war can hate them for it.
Russia = waiting to counter attack in winter

Off the top of my head. I reserve the right to reconsider!

1. Germany-Their strategy up until the attack on Britain was the smartest thing they did. The dumbest was attacking Britain and Russia at the same time.

2. Japan-The dumbest is easy. The attack on Pearl Harbor before their ultimatum was delivered to the U.S. It served to piss a country off like few ever have.

3. U.S.-Waiting as long as they did to get actively involved in the war was not smart. Their strategy once they became involved was very wise. The military minds made the proper decisions on where to attack, in spite of others, including FDR who wanted to go directly after the enemies strongest points.

4. Britain-Their strategy under Neville Chamberlain was some of the most asinine moves I have ever seen. Their best was when the Brits dumped Chamberlain and elected Churchill.

5. France-The French were a complete joke. The drew a line, the Maginot Line, and when the Germans crossed it, they folded like an accordion.

japan- pearl harbor. i dont think of it as a wise strategy to pick a fight but it is quite questionable. what were their true motives?

usa- the invasion on normandy is an incredible assult on occupied germany. truly a magnificent battle.
and of course dropping the atom bomb on hiroshima, it ended the second world war as well as set the stage for the beginning of the cold war. a crucial and frightful time for america.

russia- the defense of stalingrad. pretty intense battle just to hold ground against the germans.

Germany. Hitler's officers were warned of the D-Day invasion. They knew we were on the way. Yet, they couldn't tell Hitler because he had left orders not to be awakened and they were too scared of the crazy little nut to wake him.

They were also scared to give any orders with out clearing it with him first.

Had he known in time, the outcome may have been very different.

Aren't you glad he was tired?
