I used to install phones and it didn't bother me either way. If you were interested I'd give a running commentary, if you weren't that was fine too. I couldn't care less about your stilettos: I forgot you the second I left. I did a good job for everybody and often did extra work no charge if you asked. I never ever thought of stealing anything and none of my coworkers did either. My job was worth more than your junk.

i like to check in every once in a while, if i were a service person, it would bug me to have someone standing over me while im trying to work. so i leave them alone, but keep an eye on them as well just to make sure they dont try to do a cheap job or steal something

Usually unattended all my valuables are well hidden and locked away safely. I always tell them if they get hungry or thirsty help themselves to whatever is in the icebox or pantry and to flush the commode if they use it.

I usually stand over them and ask 100 questions

Both. I stay with them as they get started, then leave them alone. Then I check back as often as would seem appropriate.

I leave them alone. I've got better things to do, and noone works well while someone is breathing down their neck.

It depends on who they are, and why they are there...

Generally, the more you bother them with naieve questions, the more it will cost!
