I saw a Celtics jersey I loved on sale for $19.99 at store, however they didn't have my size (XL). Later on that night at another store, I found the exact some jersey for $45 at another store, and they had my XL. Can I buy it in say an XXL at the store that had it on sale for $19.99, then go to the store that did have my size (but for $45), and say that it was bought for me as a gift there, but I don't have a reciept, and I want to exchange it for an XL. Will this work? Could anything possibly go wrong besides a no answer? Would the shoplifting sensors go off if I brought in a jersey from one store (paid for), a brought it into another store?

No, nothing can happen as long as everything matches and you stick with your story that you "Lost" your reciept. The theft magnet will be deactivated when you buy it from the first store (if it even has one on it)

Good luck.

The only negative thing that could possibly happen is getting ***** slapped if you try to return it at my store.

If the first store is a chain they might be able to get it for you from a different location.
