Rainbow Six Vegas is probably the best out there right now. It's not a run and gun game; it's more about finding cover and using it.
If you don't have a 360 or PS3, the Socom series for the PS2 is always popular.

Hey i asked myself this questions many times after about a month ago. Untill i came upon Battlefeild 2 (also the espansion is very good to add on). IT has all youll need. Also the online olayis sooo fun. If you do want to go online a mic to talk to team mates is a must.
