I've lived in London for 5 years ,I undrestand everything people say or television shows ,even american movies ,but not rappers like 50cents,I just wanna know if I'm so stupid that cant find out about scripts or it's natural.

Have you listened to UK rappers? It's exactly the same. I'm an old lady and from Maine to boot, so I don't understand at first, but when I stick with it for 5 minutes, then I can start to understand what they are saying.

I enjoyed the MC contest on the BBC1 Homegrown podcast.

I mean I am sure it is normal. If you listen closely Im sure you will soon be able to figure it all out. If you listen closely you can hear it poetically. Hip Hop is actually alot better than most people say if you find the right Poets in the game. I dont listen to hip hop alot though.

, well I do not understand a word of what they say, and the blacks do have some type of speech problem in even pronouncing regular words so when put in a song, all messed up to me. Rap even done with whites , cannot understand, so I forget all rap

i can understand 50cent just fine, but i can't understand dizzee rascal in the least. so i think it's just what you're used to hearing. if you're not a native english speaker, i suspect it becomes even more difficult. in england, you'll often hear standard american accents in movies/tv shows, but you won't hear accents such as 50cent's as often in the mainstream media. so no worries - i think it's natural.

U write a song for your fans to understand how u feel , no to make them more confuse ....

rap is just a type of music. all it is is poetry w/ a lot of bass and some of it is stupid and some of it is cool. i think its okay. if you don't like rap music, you don't have to listen to it. i personally don't like 50 cent. his songs are retarded. but i think rap music is cool.

the only way you are gona understand it is if you hang out with him because there is sooo much slang...and slang is different in every part, every city of America.
