Powdered infant formula is fine for newborns as long as it is mixed properly.

newborn babies can drink powder formula like enfamil or similac which is the best one most hospitals use similac. they are basically the same but then different too. one is cheaper, one provides more nutrients than the other but basically the same and yes newborns can drink it, the powder kind will sometimes cause more gas in babies than the ready made kind due to the fact that with the powder kind you have to mix it with water and shake it really well to get it all mixed thoroughly. if you can use the ready made ready to feed kind. but also remember that babies were made to breastfeed and the breast is the best choice for newborn babies.

formula and breastmilk are the only things you should give your infant because it has all of the vitamins and nutrients that an infant needs. A babies digestive system can't tolerate cows milk, it will make them sick, won't help them develop their brains correctly and can lead to horrible issues down the road. If you can't afford to buy your formula, try to qualify for wic or other services in your area. Even county hospitals will bend over backwards to help ensure babies get what they need.

my daughter was on enfamil and didn't do well on that. My mom asked the nurses at the hospital about isomil (non-lactose) formula. My daughter did awesome on that and is now a healthy 15 month old.

Most newborns can drink powdered formula just fine, and there are plenty out on the market if baby's tummy is extra sensitive.

powdered formula is fine, you're just supposed to make sure it is the with iron kind and for their age group, but it says on the 0-12 months and up to 24 months.

Because they need to be breast fed to thrive . Breast milk has all the required nutrients and antibodies needed to make a healthy, intelligent human being, without it the baby will grow up lacking so much! It's been proven that humans that have not been breast fed are not as intelligent as their breastfed counterparts. Powdered milk is for cows, human breast milk is for humans!
