North Korea (DPRK) officially regards Kim Il sung as the "eternal leader."

During his reign, his economic and agricultural policies led to a great famine that continues today. (Today, the average DPRK citizen is 10 inches shorter than the average South Korean, due to malnutrition.) The famine has resulted in the starvation of a significant percentage of the people in the country. Kim also ruled as a despot, as does his son Kim Jong Il.

I'd say, if you are a north Korean, Kim Il Sung was pretty relevant.
