Our tivo is doing something weird. It says the TIVo Dvr has only 3 days of program information left. After that, no progress will be recorded, sofwere updates will noot be availible, and any premium services on the DVR will be interupted. To get more program information, the DVR must connect succesfully to the Tivo service. Hi Glittergirl,

Your TiVO is not connecting to the service.

If you are using a phone line make sure the wire didn't get damaged or unplugged. Unplug the line and plug it into a phone to make sure you get a dial tone. Call the number TiVO is using to see if you get a high pitched squeal indicating the connection is good.

If you are using wired a network connection make sure that cable is connected properly. If you are using a wireless connection check your router & make sure the wireless signal is O.K. and TiVO is authorized to use the network.

Once you have checked and verified your connections and wires try to force a connection. (Folow the instructions in the manual to "Connect Now").

Get out your TiVO manual and go through the installation setup proceedure just like you were starting new..

If nothing works repost your question including the model of your TiVO (Series one two or three) and your connection method (phone or Internet).

Sounds like your TIVo is not set to current TIVo service telephone number. Go into setup and fix it. It's just a warning. I've never had it happen with any of my units. Also unplugging the TIVo to reset it may correct the problem.
