I heard some people say she did it to upstage Jennifer Hudson and all the good publicity that she's been getting. After all, Dreamgirls was supposed to be Beyonce's big shot at acting stardom and out of no where came Hudson, who had to audition for the role 3 times before finally being picked, and she gets all the glory and won a Golden Globe and a Oscar! Do you think she did the sports cover to take the attention away from Jennifer? The timing seems kinda weird, don't cha think?

I personally think that beyonce wanted some attention because jennifer hudson was getting all the media attention from her days of being on american idol and getting booted off at number 8 out of 12 and then auditioning several times for the role in dreamgirls and winning numerous awards for her outstanding performance in the role. It made her a bigger star in everyone's eyes and beyonce didn't like the fact that she was not the bigger name in the movie. From what i ready beyonce wasn't too happy when she was not credited with helping to write the oscar song that she wrote with the other writers and if they would of won for it she wouldn't have one on her mantle. Beyonce doesn't need the money but she did get to be the 1st non swimsuit model on the cover.

First of all, Sports Illustrated approached Beyonce to appear in the swimsuit edition. She didn't approach them so the timing was entirely up to the folks at S.I. I think Beyonce is trying to expand her empire as far as she can - singing, acting, modeling, clothing line, etc. I'm sure it won't be long before she has a line of makeup, perfume, and hair care products (even though she used to be a spokesperson for L'Oreal). She's doing everything that she possibly can to earn $$ and gain publicity for her own benefit - not to upstage other people. She needs to strike while the iron is hot and that is exactly what she's doing.
While Beyonce may be a bit jealous of Jennifer Hudson's sudden slingshot to fame and glory, she also seems to be genuinely supportive and happy for her co-star.

its because shes trying to put her present her self in a new light. She just wanted to try something different. I don't think its out of jealousy. She had previously done the picture before the Oscars had taken place. She is proud of her and wouldn't do anything to take her shine

she just want to show she has a hotter body and looks better den hudson . btw hudson was already featured in Vogue magazine which i believe is a more of a high-end magazine. not anyone can appear in vogue.
