Living in Australia I need an answer pertinant to that -
1. I am first timer, what should I look for in a card
2. yearly interest rate charges
3. I am home most of time due to injury - woldcr.card be better
4. I would be using it mostly for internet

For a debit card, you wouldn't have interest charges, but may have annual (or even monthly) fees depending on if the bank requires you to have a minimum deposit. Credit cards offer more protection for consumers because if someone gets your number, they can't take the money out of your bank account... you just contact the company and you don't pay the charges. The only problem with credit card is if you fall behind on payments, go over your credit limit, or if you don't pay off your full balance (finance charge is based on average daily balance, so even if you paid off all but $5 of your account, you have to pay the daily balance for the full ammount you charged).
