when can i start feeding my male because he is taking care of eggs???the eggs are around 49 hours so when should they be free swimming

Don;t feed the male until you remve him from the breeding tank.

The fry should hatch very soon and be free swimming about 2 days after that. That's also when to remove the male.

They don't eat while tending the nest. This why people talk about conditioning them before breeding. Keep in mind that a betta can easily go a week without food. The fry will be free swimming in a couple of days. The real question is do you have the right something to feed them?

Good fathers usually won't eat as much as they are busily attending to falling babies and bringing them back to their nest.

But I usually still give mine a small amount of food just to keep them going but not too much, so that it won't pollute the water.

i tried to feed mine
and he wouldnt eat
so i just tried once a day and he didnt want it
so i say dont even try feeding him
