I orginally started on birth control before being sextually active to contol my periods which came very sporadically and were crazy painful with cramps and muscle spasms (lower back). The pill has fixed all of these problems but it's comming time to go off the pill. Has anyone experienced horrible periods that were controlled with the pill and then gone off the pill?

I have had many gyno visits for other reasons, but no ovarian cysts or endometriosis. It was definitly caused by a messed up spine and just crazy periods.

Its sounds like a couple of things one being PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome ) or Endometriosis. You need to schedule an appointment witha gyn doctor and get a full exam including blood tests and a sonogram. I have both PCOS and Endometriosis. I have had problems since I was very young. 8 years old to be exact , I am 23 now . I hope this helps you. You can also look up these conditions on the internet , there is a lot of helpful info out there .

Although I haven't been on the pill, I have had sporatic periods that were very painfull, but they were caused by a hormonal imbalance. Have your thyroid checked it's just a simple blood test, but could explain everything.
