I have just had to go through some terrifying situations with a local pet store and Marshall Farms. I have to tell you that I have e-mailed all of the people you listed above AND "PETA" is the only one who got back to me. I would recommend going to PETA if you need help anything animal related. They are of controversy like everyone else BUT they helped me when I needed help.

Thank you for sharing a concern of animals health and well-being. I wish more people thought like the two of us. :)

I am all for being a voice for those who cannot speak . . . however, I implore you to do your research. Don't believe everything you read and look at both sides of the discussion before supporting an organization. Take a look at:
petakillsanimals.com

Are you aware that PETA believes in the TOTAL LIBERATION OF ANIMALS - in other words, no pets, no science, no anything. Are you also aware that the VP of PETA is insulin dependent, which is made from bovine derivative and was created through animal research. Her excuse - she needs to be kept alive in order to do her work. Does that mean anyone who does work for animal well fare is allowed to use animal derived products, or only people who work for PETA. So no one elses work is important enough to justify them using animal derived products to stay alive?

You need to look into what you support and make sure you have all the facts, not just the media hype.

The Iams thing is very old news and no longer valid. Check snopes.com
PETA doesn't believe that anyone should own pets, working animals, livestock or use animals in any way. The head honchos of PETA are vegans. If They get their way, you won't even have the opportunity to enjoy a goldfish let alone a dog, cat, horse, or hamburger. They also fund groups like the Animal LIberatin Federation, which is very violent and has destroyed property and been responsible for the death of thousands of animals they *set free*.

I'm all for animal welfare. I think animals need to be treated with respect and humanely.

But PETA are extremist hypocrites. They are indeed for total animal liberation. Got pets? If PETA had it their way, you'd have to let them go free. They've compared animals today to slaves and to those who suffered and died in the Holocaust.

Animal testing may not be pretty, but if it weren't for animal testing millions of people would be dead, including their vice president, who is a insulin dependent diabetic.

Did you know that PETA has also funded money to to terrorists? They have funded money to the Animal Liberation Front, an organization that destroys property, sets animals free (where they may go on to destroy the local ecosystem), and sets fires and bombs to buildings. Their leader has even been charged with attempted murder. You really want to associate with an organization that promotes terrorism and violence?

What about the fact that they spend more money on advertisements than they actually do helping animals?

You can support them if you like- that's your prerogative, but I'd rather support the HSUS or the ASPCA than a violent extremist group.
