I was at baseball and i was catching. The coach said i didnt need my helmet right now, so i threw it off to the side. A ball went that way and when i went to catch it i stepped on it and my ankle rolled. This was at about 3 pm and it is now 8 pm. theres not alot of swelling, and its not bruised, but it hurts a lot. It hurts to move it in certain directions and hurts to walk on it.

and also, how do i tell my coach this? I went through practice today and it hurt, but i didnt want to seem like weak or something. And i dont want to say i cant practice because i dont want my coach or other players to think im faking it

Hopefully, you only sprained it.
Possibly, you tore up to 4 ligaments. Mind you, you didn't tear them completely apart or you wouldn't be walking!
There's an acronym for some help in these cases; ICE
I = Ice
C=Compression
E=Elevation.
After a couple/few days, you may see some bruising on the outside of your ankle/foot. The brusing may, after a while, appear to migrate to the top of your foot and down your toes. Looks ugly but that's not the real issue.
If you don't GENTLY keep the ligaments in motion, their fibers will mend SHORTER. Which means you stand a better chance of tearing them again.
But don't do like I did when I'd roll my ankle playing AA Volleyball and hear/feel 4 pops. I'd limp outside, take my shoe off, and stick my foot in the snow. After a few minutes, I'd lace my shoe up REALLY tight and get back in the game!
Treat this moderately - don't stop all activity and do NOTHING. But don't OVERDO it.
Perhaps tape your ankle up really well so it doesn't flex very much. The tape'll cost a bit but you'll be treating the ankle with care but not taking it completely out of action.
Good luck! Hope to read about your being drafted into the MLB someday!

in many situations once you hear a pop, you have torn something, in all probability a ligamentt. The ankle isn't an extremely good joint, and sprains are straight forward at that website. If it somewhat is black and blue, hurts even whilst your not employing it, and extremely contaminated, you maximum in all probability have a 2nd to third degree sprain. until you may go see a doctor, ice it, shop it greater advantageous, and attempt to alleviate as plenty rigidity from that ankle as obtainable. Take some ibuprofen for the soreness. it somewhat is honestly not an excellent concept to play soccer that's that this way of intense touch game until you have been cleared by using a doctor.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?
