With the "lynn" I would assume it was a girl's name. My friend named her daughter "Jaelynn." Usually if it's a boy name it's spelled "Jailin" Jailen" "Jaelin", etc.

male and female. I gave that name to my friend to name her baby boy. Except she spelled it Jaylen. I think if u wanna use it for a boy u should spell it like that, but for a girl Jailynn would be nice

This is not a traditional name, but since it ends in "lynn" it would be feminine.
The American name "Jalen" is a combination of "Jay" and "Allen" and according to babynames.com, can be used for a boy or a girl...but since it is a combination of two boy names, it seems pretty boyish to me.

By the way I would spell it a little differently. Jaleynn.
It may still mean the same, but the spelling leaves alittle to be desired.

with the spelling you've chosen it is fit for a girl. If it was Jaylin that would be a boy's name but the "y" makes it a girls name (spelling wise)
but as for the name itself, it can go either way.
