Blood carries glucose, and glucose are taken into the cells through cell membranes. Inside the cells , glucose is converted into pyruvic acid by a process cxalled glycolysis.

Pyruvic acid enters into mitochondria and goes through a series of reactions known as cellular respiration. As a result ATP is yeilded. ( Oxygen is also needed in cellular respiration)

ATP is the kind of energy that cells can utilise. When energy is needed ATP breaks down into ADP and Phosphate, and energy is released in the process.

(A small amount ATP is produced in glycolysis as well. This ATP too, can be utilised by the cell))

ATP - Adenosine triphosphate
ADP - Adenosine diphosphate

ATP----> ADP + P + energy

Cells mostly gets the energy from ATPs (an biochemical bond that can release energy), which is made from breaking down a glucose (sugar) molecule, which in turn, can be made by plants.

Yarra's got it.

An interesting note is that the 'burn' and soreness you feel after you do a lot of exercise is lactic acid. This is produced when your muscles are working hard without oxygen, but this generates a low pH, which helps 'suck' more oxygen off of your red blood cells. Then the oxygen can be used......(what yarra said)

well im not exactly positive about this, but your blood brings oxygen and sugars (i.e glucose, sucrose etc) to your musles. when your musles use more energy, they need more oxygen and other nesecities-hence when you run fast, you breath harder to get more oxygen so that your musles can work

everything you eat is distrubited through your stomache by red blood cells. that is why anerexic people comedown with disease because their body can't function without the food in your body.
