If there was a flying flag on the theater, what did that mean???

In the shakespeaeian times, a flag flying on the theatre would tell the people weather it would be a comedy, drama or history playing that night.

Back when Shakespeare was putting on plays at the globe a flag would signify that a play would be put on that day. Its kinda like an open sign....
