you are absolutely right. I have gotten thumbs-down for saying this exact sentiment on here too. Saddam was rotten, but the Ba'ath party was the only thing stopping the Shias from taking their majority and aligning with Iran. That whole apparatus has been literally blown away, and noone saw it coming????? A toddler could have forseen that outcome!

and democracy, i don't think anyone over there or the free world truly believes they will everbe allowed true democracy. But look what happened to US installed puppet regimes in the M.E.... Iran is the perfect example, 1979.

No and no, I agree with the point you are trying to make but now that we are in the situation that we are in, would you prefer a Sunni Islamic State of Iraq run by Al Qaida or a Shiite Islamic Iraq backed by Iran and the US? I don't know about you but I think the Shiites are the lesser of the two evils but not by a much. Sunnis have attacked us all over the world and several times within the US including 911. Shiites have never attacked the US outside of an Islamic country as far as I know. Sometimes I think "Hell, let'm kill each other in Iraq, why are we stopping them. They're doing us a favor!".

No to both. But I think that the chances of it becoming a shiite state are pretty good and al- Maliki is just filling the position because I don't think he has much clout w/the Iraqi people. If there is ever to be a democracy per say I think it's generations away.

We are the guy that brought democracy to Iraq. Not sure if Maliki is the right one. He is the right now. Democracy is a process, not an event.

we don't know what he can do in Iraq and upto this time he hasn't shown much success. Sunni people also ove there so may be they won't accept it and that means only more trouble.Ain't it??? Victory od Iran- isn't clear to me. But neighbours should be like friends.

No! Iran is linked to Hezbollah and Hamas.
Iranians are Persians.
The transfer of arms and weapons to Arab Shia groups like Hezbollah and Hamas from Iran, shows Arab shia and Persian shia can work together to kill Israeli's. I'm sure they'd work together to try and kill Americans.

Iraq will stay de-stabilized until the Iranians give up their nuclear weapons program.
