Pretty simple
I would take it to a Horticulturist at a noted university and get them to grow it under controlled conditions, clone it for new trees and get it on the road back to commonality.

GET another seed about the same size and plant together in an open area. Make sure its good soil with plenty of water.

I'd plant it in hopes that it'll grow and produce more seeds.
If it died, then it wasn't meant to be.
Everything has an extiction level. At least I'd give it a chance to survive and reproduce. That's all I could do.
