I'm writing a story and am having the hardest time picking a first name for the teacher. And yes, it's VERY important that he has a first name. What were some names popular among boys born about 30 years ago? He's a rulebreaker, likes to sneak around, and is pretty mischievous, if these characteristics help. I tried numerous name dictionaries online, but they didn't help much. Oh, and his last name is probably going to be Caldwell. Any suggestions?

Some names that work for that time frame - John, Joe, Mike, Alex, Ted, Fred, Paul, Ben, Sam, Dale, Darryl, etc... really pretty much anything normal none of this Apple and Bannana stuff 30 years ago a lot of people used family names and biblical names still unless his parents are hippies, then maybe something a little more off the wall would be ok.
