I know there have been many questions on this topic, but I wanted to make my own post instead of reading all of those posts. My friends said they like me for who I am, but it would be cool if I was more like them, girly. I just want to change for myself, not anyone else. I know all of the tips that everyone gives - make your hair look nice, wear pink, wear makeup... I want real tips that would actually help me. I would like tips not only on appearance, but changing my personality a little. Thanks!

You should definitely wear make-up. Just remember that you're probably gonna look like a clown if both you're eyes and lips stand out. Just pick one. If you use red lipstick then skip eyeshadow and liner and go for one or two coats of mascara. If you wanna make your eyes stand out take a dark, medium, and light (almost white but tinted with the color you're using) color. Use the light stuff first for your browbone, the medium color for up to the creases, and then the dark color for the part of the lid closest to your lash line. Put some eyeliner and mascara on and eyeliner on plus a clear gloss for lips and a light blush. Use whatever else people usually use too like Foundation, powder, etc.

For clothes shop at stores like Hollister and Abercrombie and wear tight fitting stuff. Polos are always good. Try not to wear all black. It's slimming which is good if you're... overweight. Tight jeans, mini skirt (not micro-mini), fitted Tees, button up shirt, etc. If you live in a place where it's cold during the winter then get Uggs and one of those puffy jackets with the fur trim along the hood. Juicy Coutoure, D&G, etc. have really nice stuff too.

Try getting a new haircut. Look in magazines and see what you like. You could also get highlights or dye your hair. Use volumizing shampoo. It makes your hair really pretty. Try curling your hair if it's straight and try straightening it if it's curly. Putting little bow in your hair looks really cute and girly too.

Wear perfume and always accesorize. Getting a Gucci or Louis purse wouldn't hurt either and if you can't afford that try Coach or Le Sportsac (they have small purses that are really really pretty). Shoes count too. Coach has really cute sneakers and they're actually comfortable too. Louis has pink flats that are really cute and have a bow on them. Get heels too.

Hygiene is a big part of being girly too. I shower twice a day so that might make the difference between me and the weird guy who smells like... who smells not so good. Bad breath is also a no-no. You should always carry around mints or something to make your breath smell good.

As for personaility...try to be nice to everyone around you. That means EVERYONE even the dork that sits in the front of the room picking his nose where everyone can see him. Try not to talk about weird stuff either if you do in the first place. I wouldn't change my personality so much because then my friends might not like me anymore. Flirting's one thing people always think of being girly. Just don't overdo it or you'll be the new school slut. If you say stuff like "yo" or other "gangsta" stuff like that then try to stop because it usually makes you seem like freak unless you really are a "gangsta".

okay for hair:
get layers, if makes your hair fun and flirty, also bangs on a side angle are great

for getting dressed:
-don't be afraid to show off your body: wear skirts(but don't be slutty)
- find a color that compliments your eyes
- layering is always cute!
- pink is nice= but you don't have to wear it to be girly
- all black is a great way to slim your body(make sure to layer it though, and add some other color so you don't look goth); all white makes you look fatter than you really are

makeup:
- hid your zits with coverup/concealer (Lancome Paris makes a great concealer)
- if your pale use bronzer= but too much makes it look like your orange

soo i hope my tips work! good luck on being more girly!

ohh one last tip: FLIRT! [ its the ultimate way of being a girly girl ]

oh yeah: HAVE FUN!

erm go shopping get like a skirt with high heels a nice looking like pink shirt.......and like put you hair up and if u have kinda long banges have 2 curls beside youre face with your hair back.... ( and if you really want to look girly go get your nails done and toenails and get some nice earings and necklace that people will notice but that is not big and ugly ) and if you wear make-up put foundation on to make your skin flawless and put a little bit of eye shadow on with mascara and a little bit of blush only on the cheek bone and for your lips a little bit of colored lip gloss

I say be who you are, wear what makes you feel beautiful and don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. Be who you like to be, not who you think you ought to be.

If your clothing and carriage don’t make you feel pretty, find something that does. I think being beautiful and feminine means different things to different women. One key point is not to wear anything that you feel uncomfortable in. A lady who feels awkward is not going to seem beautiful, even if she is.

I have been told I’m quite girly myself. I hate pink, I don’t flirt, and I often wear minimal makeup. I’m a fairly strong lady as far as my personality goes. However, I like dresses that show my shape and find a certain power in a good pair of high heels. Personality wise, to me being feminine means being assertive in a polite and diplomatic way.

I have spent a lot time recently dressing other people for a living. Women who don’t feel feminine are often women who are uncomfortable showing their own bodies, or who simply feel odd about putting on a skirt. Honestly, I don’t think that’s what femininity is. I think it is finding something you are comfortable with, something that makes you feel attractive and beautiful. Some ladies it’s a smart, well-fitted pant suit, well accessorized. Some ladies it’s a flowy dress and sandals. The important thing is that you feel beautiful in it, and that you don’t try to hide yourself. Most women are better looking than they give themselves credit for.

i dont think i agree with the whole "wear high heels" thing. im a girly girl and i hate heels they hurt. just make sure that your outfit is cute, and dont be shy. show off your body without being sluty. You dont HAVE to wear a skirt to be girly, nice jeans that actually FIT you are just fine. if you dont feel comftorble in skirts, you could wear a skort(looks like a skirt, but with shorts underneth.) as for makeup, eyeliner brings out your eyes more. i have dark brown hair and wear black eyeliner. if you have lighter feture liek bonde hair blue eyes then you can go to a brown eyeliner. fondation helps even out your skin but PLEASEE be careful bcoz i know girls who wear the wrong shade or just dont rub it in enough and it looks badd...hmm..what else? be friendly and just really happy and flirty. go to wear alot of kids your age hang out. and just because youre girly dosnt mean you cant do sports, just dont be obsessed with them. well, i cant really think of how else. i guess just dont try too hard or youll look like a wanna be or poser or something.oh and dont talk crap about people- it just comes back to bite you in the butt. trustme!
HAVE FUN. i hope i helped ya. : ]

Take this advice..

I know it's physical, but put on a pair of REALLY nice high heels. I mean, go to the store, pick out a pair and just try them on. Get up, and start walking and realise.. You're a girl! Girls rock, and know that tom-boyish or not.. Heels are hot!

It sounds to me like you are a "hands on" type of girl. Doing boy things is not a problem with you. Why is that?
You have to be less hands on doing mechanics or whatever and become more of an airhead so to speak. Keep your hands clean, and act brainless. That is more girly. Weak and helpless.

For appearance:
