I have heard rumours that a home pap smear kit has become available. It's terrible, I know, but I have not had one done since I was a couple of months pregnant 10 years ago. I can't bear it. For me, it's something I can't go through, so this home kit may be what I need.

I jokingly told my doc at my last one that they should come out with at home ones her answer? They did have them, they were given to females docs and nurses to try. they got bad reviews cause it's actually really difficult to do that for yourself, the results were not accurate at all. So don't count on them being great if they are avaliable. (i'm in canada and they are not avaliable here. they may be somewhere else though)

Unfortunately haven't heard of this. I'm sure if this were true and available, gynecologists would be making alot less money. I don't think anyone looks forward to having a pap smear but it would be well worth it as a good health measure. Maybe you can get a friend to go with you. Generally it will only last a few minutes and to me a few minutes of something not so fun is worth it if it may save my life. Good luck.

Never heard of at home test.
You owe it to you child to have the doctor test you, honey. They can screen alot of things with this test. It's really not that bad. Please see your doctor.
