hey hey hey,
ola seniora,
You can make per cust on avg 5-10 bucks. On avg if you work 6 hours, you can serve about 20-40 customers.
So avg - $100 to $400. Thats the range. Good luck

Work as a waitress. I've been waiting tables for the last 6 years. You can make anywhere from $40 - $200 a shift depending on weather you work day or night, weekday or weekends, where the restaurant is located and how cheap/generous people feel that day. It's hard work, but you're moving around a lot and you get to work with lots of interesting people from all sorts of back rounds. I'd give it a shot. The training is the hardest part, just b/c you usually don't get tips the first week while you train, but it's worth i. You usually get better shifts the longer you've been there, but you can definitely do better than $160/week. Take a chance! Good Luck!

Go get that job @ Red Lobster!!! I wait tables at a 30 year old family owned & operated 24 hour caf'e.
When I started school, I applied, although I had no experience.
Last month was my 5 year anniversary.....Red Lobster's menu is much higher than what I deal with. The recommended tip amount is 15% to 25% of the total bill. People really appreciate and reward for good service. I work 32 hours a week and earn $500 to $800 a week. I only serve about $400 avg.(a day) worth of food in this time frame. YOU can earn $160 in one day.....maybe they would work around your pt schedule until you feel more secure with the "un-Known" income. Best Wishes!!

You can def. make more money then that a week as a waitress.
You should look at both and decide if either of them will be career jobs for you.
Maybe you want to manage a restaurant or move up in the call centre.
Maybe neither job is a career and it is just about the money.
If that is the cases, waitress offers good money and flexible hours.
You could try doing both, a few nights a week serving and then decide.
Best of luck.

Jamille, you don't say how old u are and wheither ur in a situation where u can afford to take the risk? Call center can be long & boring but it's fairly safe. If your financial situation can allow I'd take the risk. It's hard but enjoyable work.
Only you know how your able to handle people (customers). Great service gets great tips. If you can make your customers feel welcome even though you'll be busy, keeping their drinks topped off, remembering to bring things timely and have a great smile. It's a great job. Having a good crew helps too. Where waiters/waitress can see & remind their fellow workers if u see something needing attention. It's the ideal place to work for college students. You definately have to be willing to work weekends which is where the greatest amount of money is to be made.
Good luck and may u make all your customers want to ask for you by name.

I think you could do better at Red Lobster. But don't expect to make the same every night. It all depends on how the customer is feeling at the time. If they are in a good mood, you'll get a good tip, but if thely are only there because they felt obgligated to take someone out, and don't really enjoy the evening, you won't make much on them. However someone else you wait on could be in a good mood, and you could get a really big tip. I'd go for this.

One of my good friends works as a server at Red Lobster. He works a split shift every Saturday and the lunch shift every Sunday. He tells me that he averages around $300 for just those two days and still has Sunday night free. You might strongly consider getting a job there, especially during Lent. It should be very busy.

i worked at denny's on and off last 8 yrs (a place that will usually hire u back/hires seasonally). It depends on what shift you work. Morning you will make consistant money. Swing is pretty slow but you may make almost $50 a day. Overnight is worth it if you're on weekend nights. Good money, a lot of fast paced hard work, but then you need to work the slow weekday overnights where you don't make much.
