They keep saying, "Why do you care, if you've got nothing to hide"? Well, you know what? We all have "something to hide", even if it is only that we complain about our spouses, or want to tell Susie that Great-Aunt Sarah is a busybody!!! What we say to others is nobody else's business!!! And it is one of the RIGHTS that make this country different from so many others.
I always thought that it was the Conservatives who felt most strongly about the Constitution, and the rights that it provides to all US citizens. They always complained that it was the Liberals who tried to usurp the "Great Document". Well, now we have a President who calls it a "Gd piece of paper". Go figure.....
Even though there have been terrorists for eons, and terrorist acts everywhere around the world, it wasn't until one hit home (and, I will grant you, it WAS the biggest since the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki....) that people woke up to the fact that US civilians COULD actually be hurt and killed on our own soil by "crazies" who hate us. Writers of both fact and fiction have talked about the potential for terrorist acts in the US for many, many years. No one listened! We were arrogant in the way that we thought no one would have the audacity to come to OUR shores and hurt US!!!!
But when they did, whoa baby, did we react! Like scared rabbits, we ran to "Daddy Dubya" and said, "We'll do anything, give up anything, just don't let them do it again."
And, you know what? That is exactly why the terrorists do what they do! They want to disrupt our daily lives! We have played right into their hands.

I believe it who is on the other end of the Government. I also know with all of the hacking going on the web, your not safe anyway. I have had to run a tracer on a hacker getting into my account presently. I guess they don't care for my freedom of speech. People that wont take the assertion to get a warrant to investigate your own personal property are still listed in the law books as burglar's committing theft.

Why don't the liberals do any research. Listening in on ppls conversations has been going on for years. Look every time I turn around, some other liberal court is taking more and more of our right away...In NY you cannot say the "n"word or you will go to jail, well the way I see, white ppl have not been allowed to say that word, and are no the ones who commonly use it, No baby Jesus on public property, but you can have a menorah < this is a religious symbol to Jews. You will no longer be able to do any booing at any ball games.....because it has offended parents, and made them mad because their child got booed. So why not listen to some conversations....I have nothing to hide, I am not a traitor to my country, I believe in protecting her from illegals and terrorist the best way we can.....and if that requires the government to listen in on phone calls then so be it. If they can catch a terrorist or thwart a terrorist attack.....go for it. But what a great deal of you ppl do not realize, is that key words set off the phone tapping. If you have nothing to hide, and still want to protect your country, and your children, then what is the problem with listening to your conversation....Just remember not to say any of the above things....you can go to jail.

The Govt doesnt listen in on every work you say It monitors communications for words key words like Bomb, President, al-Qaeda, This was set up under Clintion administration 1994 How conviently we forget....
Facts just get in the way I understand...

Well, I can certainly see where that would make Hillary Clinton appear as an acrobat tomorrow ..doing back-flips under the big-top , while she protests at Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus that we have too much free speech ..
I get the picture : democrats are all for free speech ..until it comes to keeping the United States free . .Otherwise , free speech could stifle Hillary Rodham Clinton's freedom...that's why she wants to take away ours . Trying to limit our free speech , saying "we have too much free speech" - but like the dishonest coward she is ..when it comes to national security..that's an attack on free speech ? Which is it ? One way for them ; and none for us ?

First of all, there have actually been a few cases where the actual goal (nabbing terrorist plots) was actually fulfilled. Secondly, who the heck cares? If it makes you happy, have phone sex for all I care! At least the right side isn't trying to brainwash our kids into thinking Chrisitanity is evil, drug addicts can't help themselves but cigarettes are evil, etc, etc, etc.

Do you really thing the law enforcement community has the time or desire to sit around and listen to every phone call, or, do you think it is more rational that they might spend their time listening to phone calls and internet usage of those they have reason to believe might be trying to harm the US?
I am not scared of the "BOOGIE MAN". I am concerned that there might be another 13 people in this country who might be planning another devistating attack on our people.
If you think the FBI/NSA/CIA/ locall PD etc. is sitting around listening to me talk to my mom about what my kids have done this week, or listen to betty jo talk about her favorite peanut butter cookie reciepe...you have some other issues that need to be addressed.
