They aren't naturally messy, you have them in a little tiny bit of water, when in nature they would have a lake, river, stream or ocean to swim in. See how clean you appear if you were to be confined to a little box.

You would be messy, too, if all your waste stayed in your room until someone came along and cleaned it up. The best way to keep your fish "clean" is to make sure you have plenty of water and not too many fish.

My fish are not messy, 15 galon tank, change 4 gallons a week check the PH, Nitritate/amonia weekly and feed 1 time a day. replace the charcol insert every 6-8 weeks.

Cause they are so awesome that they can get away with it. *I've never found fish to be messy* Even if they are messy, they are worth it.

Your fish are probably messy becuase you don't take the care that is required.

It depends on the water filtration that you have,most fish can produce various types of gunk depending on the fishes breed

They are animals.
You would be messy,too,(maybe you are) if you hadn't learned discipline and manners.

They aren't like humans. They go to the bathroom anywhere there isn't danger. It is their instinct to be afraid of alot of things and the last thing they think about is going to the bathroom!!!!

They live in water. They are rather slimy, they have a coat of mucus that prevents fungi from entering.
