Lasting happiness is when you simply realize that you're happy by the littliest things in the world,appreciating what you have in life,feeling thankful just to get a chance to live another day.

in my context lasting happiness is the ability to survive the hard stuff and still get the bills paid leaving a little left over. confidence in ones own ability to find the good in each day and consider problems as nothing more than present challenges for future serenity

Lasting happiness. You both have to be on the same page of course, and I mean in bed and sense of humors, values and belief and so forth. You have to be able to balance each other out. Communication is key. You should check out some books, relating in Speech 2. It helped me a lot. You'd be surprised in the things you find.
