IF you do not have a firewall ,anti virus and anti spyware on your windows system then you can be hacked silently by trojans,spyware and viruses and you will only know once the system becomes slow (sometimes that too will never happen)

if someone else thinks you were hacked then your computer probably sent them something or you gave them an infected file. some viruses will pose as you and send emails to your addressbook. change all of your passwords and run a virus scan.

if you get popups and strange emails and seeing your comp getting shutdown more likely to be spyware or just a BAD trojan
