I may have an offer of working and living in Moragoro in Tanzania. I have heard and read varying reports...I know this applies to ANY country..good and bad,but would appreciate more feedback. anyone with personal experiences. Anyone living there now that is not actually from Morogoro...I am keen to get to know the local way of life and do not want to necessarily live as an expat.

I am from Tanzania but now in America, i used to live in Dar es salaam and also went to school in Dodoma region, i have passed through Morogoro for several times(every holiday)from Dar es salaam to Dodoma and sometimes spending time there before i get to my school. Morogoro is a good and beautiful region with all the mountains especially in Town areas but it's dry than Dar es salaam and wetter than Dodoma, it's has red ground and sometimes having winds which carries red dusts. But it's the hub of bus transportation for central and south TANZANIA.

And if you are looking for a good place to eat where they speak English, there is a restaurant called the Acropol, and all taxi drivers know where it is also you have to watch out about the price they will give you. You need to agree on a price BEFORE you leave with that taxi, the price should be three thousand to five thousand in Tanzanian shillings (about four dollars). Nearby is a place to stay called mama Parina's, which has private bathrooms and hot water, the owner knows several languages including English. I think you will enjoy if you happen to live in Morogoro.

If you have more questions feel free to ask.

Tanzania is the most peacful, beautiful and respected country of the easter and central african region. You could not live in a better place in the region. Morogoro is beautiful and only two and half hours away from Dar-es-Salaam. Its mountanious, green and fertile, close to Mikumi national park.
