smoked head lights & tail lights laws in California?

does anyone know if there are any laws against smoked(tinted) head lights & tail lights laws in California???

Illegal in CA as well as most states (if not all).
CA specific, the law states that:
Taillights must be red, and must be visible from 1000 ft. (only 500 ft if built before '69). (The smoked taillights will appear black, and will ahve reduced light output).

Headlights must be white and project at least 100 ft for low beams, high beams should project 350 ft. Blue, yellow and other color headlights are illegal. (The smoked headlights will reduce the light output, and make them appear brown or yellow).

Also states it's illegal to use unapproved light modifying devices, which would cover any smoked light covers or tint.

Doesn't mean you won't see vehicles with them, but with them, you're at risk of getting pulled over and getting a defective/illegal equipment ticket.
