A Log Cabin is a fairly busy quilt, so you don't have to do really complicated quilting. You have two choices - an allover pattern that doesn't take into account the layout, or a planned pattern that is tailored to the layout. If you go with an allover, you could do a simple grid, or a basic meander, or a variation of the meander like loops, waves, flowers, etc. If you go with the planned pattern, it depends on the layout you chose - straight furrows, barn raising, star, whirligig, sunshine and shadow. Try to emphasize the value differences - light vs. dark. A Log Cabin is a very angular design, so use curves in the quilting. You could do circles, or feathers, or put simple motifs in the light areas. Check the link below for a huge selection of quilting motifs.

RE:
Quilting design for Log cabin Quilt?
What quilting pattern do you use on a Log Cabin quilt. I have the quilt top done but do not have any idea how it is suppose to be quilted. I sure don't want to quilt every line on it. Has anyone any ideas?

try doing it as a tied quilt, and tie where the 4 corners come together. u can also maybe tie in the center of each block, or maybe a small design in the center of each block would b pretty.

Patches, zig-zags, circles and diamonds/stars. I know it's more labor intensive, but I think 3" to 6" patterns are much nicer looking than larger patterns.
