If they are rational, present evidence,. Reason with them. If they are not reasonable, show the consequences of following their thinking to the outcome. If they have nothing but fanatical zeal don't waste your time.

It's a bit tricky, you have to get a very sharp cutting instrument, preferebly a high speed saw, then you have to remove the top part of the skull. Repeat this on another person. Then, reach in and grab the brain from each person and swap. Sew back together

You can not get a person to change their mind without offering compelling information that changes their outlook on the situation.
If my mind is made up on something it takes a heck of a lot of intelligent conversation to change it.

find out why he believes the things he does and determine if its a true reaction to his experience or if hes just afraid of changes, challenges, new things, or failing. sometimes changing the environment and debating issues can cause a change in view.don't count on it. most ideas tend to be fairly concrete until they are proven wrong. the proof is whats hard to come up with

I'd say prove them wrong but for some that only stiffens their resolve. Actually i'd find out as much as I could about the person and try playing to their strengths and weaknesses.

By asking someone to change his mind, I take it that your opinion is right.
In this case, explain to him the reasons why his opinion is wrong and the consequence(s) of not changing his mind.

I show them why it would be a good idea to do whatever it is I want them to do...and if they don't believe me then I say...fine...I tried...and then wait for them to come back to me with a problem because they didn't listen to me in the first place.
