Does anyone have any advice?I need more points to make. This is it so far:::
There are varying reasons for a woman to get an abortion, some more ethical or urgent than others. It can be difficult for a woman to be told that she cannot get an abortion or that it is illegal, and even the most intelligent and experienced doctor may not know what’s best for a pregnant mother. Therefore, abortion should be a woman’s decision.
The constitution states that all people have equal rights; so all women should have the right to choose whether they would like an abortion or not. Only the pregnant mother knows best what she wants to be done on her body, and what decision is right for her and the unborn child.
Denying women access to medical services that let them control their fertility or end a dangerous pregnancy is unjust. A woman disallowed an abortion can be affected emotionally. This is not always true, however if women had the right to decide whether an abortion should be done on them or not, this wouldn’t be an issue.
Most abortions that are done by doctors are well practiced and safe. It is unreasonable for someone to say a woman is not making the right decision by having an abortion because they are not safe. Still, the process doesn’t always go perfectly and there can be issues and complications.

Your essay is redundant. The only point you make is that you think a woman's own opinion about whether or not she has an abortion is all that matters. You can say that with one sentence.

I am personally opposed to abortion for one reason and one reason only. There are babies born prematurely every day. Some have been gestating for just over 6 months or so. One thing we can state quite truthfully is that an unborn baby is human at least in the last trimester.
This leads to my dilemma. Somewhere between the initial fertilization and the third trimester, the fetus became a human. I do not know exactly at what point that happens but it does, obviously. That being the case, how can we ignore the rights of the unborn human in favor of the mother? All humans have equal rights. Your mothers choice argument does not hold water because there are two people affected by her decision. The mother and the baby.

I agree a woman has the right to decide what happens to her own body. I don't agree she has a right to decide what happens to someone else's body. That includes the little one in her uterus.

A person's a person no matter how small.

I would add a point and I disagree with a point you made. I'd add the point that having an abortion almost universally horrifies the woman and she is never the same after. I have known twenty women well who have had abortions in my life and every one of them has a scar a yard across on their soul. Many have never led a normal loving life after. It is a horrific thing to do, even if it is the right thing to do in the circumstance. I'd cover that.

Also, I disagree that the woman "knows what's best". Not at all. A physician would know infinitely more about her body than she, and a psychologist would know more about how this might affect her. She OWNS her body, is all. She is not at all necessarily the expert on it. And people could argue that she does not OWN the fetus, but is the caretaker of another human being temporarily, the way a nurse may be yours or my caretaker if we're in the hospital. They don't OWN us, just because we are in their power -

And, it is NOT an equal thing, as you say. Men get one chance to decide about sex, and all the consequences. Women get the same chance. That's when they decide whether or not to have sex. But women get a second chance to beg off the consequences, six weeks later if they like. Men don't. Men can't command women to have abortions - and the birth might be VERY inconvenient to a man who will then have to pay child support for twenty years. Why can women opt out, but men are stuck along for the ride? And what if the man loves the woman and the baby? Men can't STOP the abortion of THEIR baby either. I'd go cautiously into the statement that women should be equal to ... whatever, on this issue. It is decidely UNequal.

To make any argument convincingly, it often helps to apply the technique of "Reductio ad absurdum", which means basically taking your opponent's viewpoint and showing how it leads to a flawed conclusion. This demonstrates inadequacy of the competing argument. Next, you want to keep applying this technique again and again until you "back into" the point you are trying to make.

In the above case, for instance, start with something like the position that a fetus is a person, which is part of the foundation of pro-life arguments. Then demonstrate that if interpreted too fully, this definition fails -- for instance, in inheritance cases or whatever (I am making this up as I go, so sue me). Find several such flaws if you can. Then, having demonstrated that the premise ("fetuses have the same legal rights as 'born children'") is somehow flawed (which it may or may not be), demonstrate that an alternative interpretation is required. And so on. Eventually you should be able to build your case that there are "gray areas" and that the opposing viewpoint is overly simplistic or ill-founded, and offer your viewpoint not as THE answer, but just an alternative interpretation of the actual facts that bears thinking about. Every time you make a point, assume it's wrong, and try to prove it is, and if you can't prove it's wrong, then leave it open to the reader that it may be right.

Understand that your opponent may be making HIS/HER points using the same logic, so say nothing in your paper you can't defend.

If you want to see a very good example of this kind of thesis-building, take a look at the original text of Charles Darwin's _The Origin of Species_. Whether you agree with Darwin or not, his points are wonderfully argued.

Good luck with your paper, and I hope for you that enlightenment comes as a result of your search for knowledge.

First I would remove "Only the pregnant mother knows best what she wants to be done on her body, and what decision is right for her and the unborn child" since it is a child in the eyes of the mother it then becomes murder.
I would talk about back ally abortions and I would talk about more focus on preventions. Women have a right to choose but they also have the moral responsibility to see that they are in control of their bodies from the beginning.

You should take this opportunity to state both sides of the argument, such as the unborn child should have equal rights as well. There are many reasons to and not to choose this path, it is how you justify it. Make sure the paper states that everyone disagrees largely on the angle of justification. Good luck.

Abortion isn't murder. Those cells are not a being yet. They cannot experience pain or have any sort of comprehension. Mention the possible danger of illegal abortions.

How about the following:

-Abortion is an overrated issue. It affects too few of us for it to be at the forefront of political consciousness.

It is wrong to take the innocent life of a child that deserves a chance to live.

So you are for Murder then?

That is what you are doing when you have an abortion. That child that you are about to kill might want to live so that she or he can choke the stuffing out of you for thinking about killing them.

Baloney on the woman's choice, how about the choice of the baby you are about to murder?
