What is your true opinion on HR 1022? What should be done about it?

I find it to be a despicable violation of the second amendment ... The vast majority of crimes committed with firearms are done with pistols and not semi auto rifles.
I've already contacted my congressman and voiced my opinion and asked him to vote no.

Ah the ban on assault weapons etc.
Its a waste of time and money. Look up crimes involving shootings. You will find they were committed with a pistol usually. But thats not what they are banning.
If there was an assault weapon involved in a crime which is rare, its one by a criminal anyway. They arent going to go turn theirs in because a law was made.

This law accomplishes little.

Argle some people are collectors, some like to target shoot.
I don't own any of that stuff myself but just saying, why do you need that , well is that a reason to make them illegal?

Basically the petition is established to to ban WWII era rifles such as the M1 Garand and semi-automatic shotguns. In essence, to an extent it violates our Constitutional Right to bare arms. However; I find it absolutely absurd for anyone to posses such weapons. Nonetheless; with our government selling out America to foreign interest; I'm incline to support the ability to protect ourselves; if the situation should occur where citizens had to flight off foreign enemies on our soil.

You probably won't find a lot of people who have a problem with banning assault rifles. I don't like any ban on guns. I've become rather protective of my constitutional rights, since I feel they are being threatened by our current Government.
