I play on my varsity soccer team, and it's a big thing for me becasue I'm the only sophmore to ever make it, and I'm trying out again next fall, but I wanted to know if anyone had any websites or tips on new little dribbling tips or some shots on net, I'm learning to do a bicycle kick but I just wanted to make my year a little more exiting..

I'm a high school soccer coach, and I can tell you that at this level coach's aren't looking for players who can do ball tricks, or bicycle kicks, etc., but rather players who work hard, master the basics, show up on time to practice every day, and understand the idea of "team." Good luck.

Alot of people say that there is no "i" in team, but there is an "i" in win and everybody loves winning. As for the tricks try looking up the FOOT- ABILTY series wher two former MLS players teach you the best tricks out there. Also try looking at some soccer videos of C.Ronaldo and other top players on the internet( try Metacafe). Above all try to make up your own tricks and get your own style of play cause you have to have style. Above all enjoy what you do and have fun! JOGA BONITO!!!!!!

I don't know what position you play but as a goalie i stress to my forwards placing the ball. if you kick the ball a hundred miles per hour but it goes over the goal everytime its no big issue. I don't kick that hard but on free kicks i can hit the top/bottom right/left corner and score more goals than the guys playin up there. practice keeping the ball low to the ground those are a pain to block. one of my best blocks was a hard low one that just missed after i hit it and alot of goalies screw those up because you have to dive and keep low. really just work on accuracy is what im sayin.

As a former coach, refferee, and player, my best advice is to forget about showboating, work hard on your basic skills, learn about TEAM concepts(remember, there is no "I" in TEAM), and above all, keep your grades up.Remember, just keep it simple and have fun. The rest will come naturally.
