it may mean a variation on the different levels of paranoid personality disorder. usually related to schizophrenia. or it may simply mean a person who is always looking for other people to blame things on. they may feel like a failure and are constantly on the lookout for conspiracy theories so they wont have to accept responsibility for their decisions or the results of those decisions. my bet would be that they are totally willing to accept the pat on the back for good choices but any negative outcome has to be because someone else set them up or lied or framed them in some way.

Depends, if they are a stripper, it's a big money night. If they are Dorthy it means they want the dog too. If it's a serious criminal type, it means the FBI is close behind. If it's Richard Nixon, well , he's telling the truth, just once. If it's you, well you have to quit sleeping with your family. It makes you touchy/irritable/defensive. But if it's your live in , run. You'll make the top of their list, eventually. These people do not have much of a sense of humor.

Your question brings to mind an old saying, "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean people aren't out to get me." In that old saying may lie your answer. It depends on how "in depth" an answer you want to your question. You can study the term "paranoia" in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders under the titles "Paranioa" and there used to be a diagnosis of Paranoid Personality Disorder, and may still be. I retired about 8 years ago from a 20+ year career as a mental health practitioner, so I have a lot of information about the subject that my fingers and hands just don't feel up to typing here, so I refer you to that reference book for all (and maybe more) information that you'll ever want / need. God Bless you.

If you're looking for the psychological term, it's "paranoid." Of course, it's not paranoid if it's true.
